Houzz Pro alternative for UK builders and renovators (2026)

Houzz Pro suits one kind of UK firm very well: a design-led renovator or interior designer who sells with 3D floor plans and wants to be seen on Houzz. If that's how you win work, its tools are built around you.

If you're a builder who wins work on price, programme and reputation, and spends your evenings on take-offs, contracts and variations, the UK pricing works against you. The tools a builder leans on most (take-off, change orders, daily logs, contracts) sit in the Custom package, not in the £139 Pro plan, and there's a 12-month minimum term. EstiMate gives you contracts and variations from £15.99 a month, AI take-off at £39.99, and no contract.

What Houzz Pro UK costs

From the Houzz Pro UK pricing page, as listed in October 2026:

  • Pro: £139 a month after a 30-day free trial. Includes estimates, invoicing, the 3D floor planner, online payments, assemblies, CRM, and phone and live-chat support.
  • Custom: price on request. Adds takeoffs, project scheduling, change orders, budgets and daily logs.
  • Advertising: packages from £119 a month.

Houzz's UK free-trial page says "Minimum contract lengths are 12 months". We couldn't confirm whether the UK price is per user, or whether the monthly figure assumes annual billing, so ask Houzz before you sign. For reference, the US Design and Pro plans include one user, with each extra user at $50 a month (Houzz Pro US pricing).

The 12-month sum

Illustrative only. As above, we couldn't confirm whether the UK price is per user or whether £139 a month assumes annual billing, so the Houzz figures below hold only if £139 is what your firm pays each month for the whole 12-month term. We couldn't find a VAT basis on Houzz's page; EstiMate's prices are what you pay, on one business login, with a VAT receipt for every payment.

  • Houzz Pro for the minimum term, on that basis: £139 × 12 = £1,668.
  • Add the cheapest advertising package for the same year: £119 × 12 = £1,428, making £3,096.
  • EstiMate Pro for a year: £39.99 × 12 = £479.88, and you can cancel in any month.
  • EstiMate for a year: £15.99 × 12 = £191.88.

If the UK price turns out to be per user, the Houzz figures go up with each extra person. And bear in mind that the £1,668 is for the Houzz plan without take-off, change orders or daily logs. Those need Custom, which is price on request.

Prices checked October 2026 on Houzz Pro UK pricing, the Houzz Pro UK free-trial terms and EstiMate pricing. Houzz's UK help pages describe contracts as "Custom packages only" (client dashboard help). "Not found" means we searched Houzz Pro's published material and didn't find it.

On VAT, Houzz says its financial reports can be exported to a spreadsheet "to complete your VAT reports" (Houzz Pro financial reports). We found no VAT return filing in Houzz Pro's material. EstiMate works out the figures for your VAT return in the Accounts tab, but it doesn't file to HMRC either: you or your accountant still submit it.

What Houzz Pro does well

  • AI estimates drafted from text or voice (Houzz Pro AI tools).
  • 3D and dollhouse floor-plan views and LiDAR room scans (Houzz Pro features), which help when the client needs to see it before they'll buy it.
  • E-signatures on estimates, proposals and change orders.
  • The Houzz marketplace, where paid advertising brings in homeowner leads.
  • 4.3 from 1,088 reviews on Capterra.

Who it suits: interior designers, kitchen and bathroom design studios and design-and-build renovators who sell on visuals, want Houzz exposure, and are happy to commit for a year.

Read the reviews about cancellation before you sign. Capterra tags cancellation as the top complaint, with 98% of 42 related reviews negative, and reviewers describe auto-renewal for a year and monthly billing turning into annual (same Capterra page). Fine if you go in knowing the term. Painful if you don't.

Leads: buying adverts or reading the planning register

Houzz sells homeowner leads through advertising, from £119 a month. On Trustpilot, some UK reviewers of Houzz (the whole company, not only Houzz Pro) say the leads are poor for the cost, and one says they pay over £4,200 a year (Houzz UK on Trustpilot). Results will vary with your area and your trade.

EstiMate takes a different route. TenderPilot, which sits inside EstiMate, lists live UK public-sector and posted tenders and turns every council's planning register into local leads. A homeowner who has just got planning permission for a two-storey extension is about as warm as a lead gets. Searching tenders is free on any plan, a free account can search and shortlist planning applications (the applicant's details and the drawings are for members), and the full TenderPilot is an add-on for Pro members. Our guide to planning applications as lead generation explains how to work them.

Where EstiMate fits better

EstiMate is built for UK builders who quote, contract, run and account for projects. On the £15.99 plan you get:

  • Branded quotes with a client link, where the client can accept, decline, pick optional extras or ask for amendments.
  • Contracts with e-signature, generated from the accepted quote.
  • Variations priced from site and approved by the client with one tap, updating the contract total and invoices.
  • Payment milestones, invoices with card payments through Stripe, and automatic chasing.
  • The Accounts tab: P&L, VAT figures and a CIS register.

Pro adds AI take-off, the AI quote writer, the AI visualiser, retention and valuations, and snagging with numbered pins on drawings.

If 3D floor plans and LiDAR scans are how you sell, Houzz Pro is built for that, and EstiMate won't put you in front of Houzz's audience. What EstiMate does is get the job priced, signed, varied and paid without a 12-month lock-in. If you were also looking at the big US platforms, see Buildertrend vs EstiMate for UK builders.

What to do next

  1. If you're on a Houzz Pro trial, check exactly what you're agreeing to before the 30 days are up, because the UK minimum contract length is 12 months.
  2. Ask Houzz what Custom costs for your firm, since that's where take-off, change orders, daily logs and contracts sit.
  3. Price your next job on EstiMate's free plan and compare the two side by side.
