Tradify vs YourTradebase: UK quoting apps compared (2026)

If you're a UK trade choosing between Tradify and YourTradebase, two things decide it: how many people need a login, and whether you work under CIS. YourTradebase is UK-built, charges a base price per business plus extra users, and does CIS deductions and the reverse charge on the invoice itself. Tradify charges every user, and its own help centre says CIS and reverse-charge invoices need Xero or Sage.

Tradify has the edge on customer-facing quotes (clients can tick optional extras online), AI writing help, cheaper card fees and a Sage connection. YourTradebase has the edge on price for teams, UK tax, a longer trial and a signature on quote acceptance. If you run building projects with contracts and variations, we couldn't find either in either app, and that's the last section.

What a team pays

Tradify's UK plans are Lite £34, Pro £37 and Plus £44, per user per month (Tradify UK pricing). YourTradebase is from £29 a month, or £290 a year ("12 months for the price of 10"), plus £15 a month for each additional user on its current pricing page, with prices excluding VAT (YourTradebase pricing).

1 person£37£29
3 people£111£59
5 people£185£89
10 people£370£164

Prices checked October 2026 on Tradify's UK pricing page and YourTradebase's pricing page. Tradify figures are users × £37. YourTradebase figures are £29 plus £15 for each user after the first: for five people, £29 + 4 × £15 = £89.

Two caveats, to be fair to both. YourTradebase's pricing page doesn't say whether the £15 applies to office staff, field staff or both; older pages said field staff and subcontractors were free, so ask before you budget. And YourTradebase's prices are ex VAT, while we couldn't confirm whether Tradify's include it. Even if you add 20% VAT to YourTradebase and none to Tradify, five people come to £106.80 against £185.

YourTradebase raised its price from £25 to £29 a month from September 2025, which it called its "first price change in six years" (YourTradebase blog).

Card fees go the other way

Tradify charges 1.7% + 20p on standard cards (Tradify fees). YourTradebase charges 2.0% + 20p on standard UK and EU cards (YourTradebase fees). On a £5,000 stage payment that's £85.20 on Tradify against £100.20 on YourTradebase. If clients pay big invoices by card, factor it in.

"Not found" means we searched the vendor's website and help centre in October 2026 and couldn't find it. EstiMate's Yes and Built in features are on the £15.99 plan and above; (Pro) means the £39.99 plan.

Quoting

Both let the customer accept online. On Tradify Pro and Plus, the customer ticks the optional sections they want and the subtotal updates before they accept (Tradify help). YourTradebase has optional quote items too, but its help centre says that when a quote with optional items is accepted, you're prompted to choose which items go on the job (YourTradebase help).

On signatures it's the other way round. YourTradebase has a setting that requires the customer to sign when they accept (YourTradebase help). Tradify's help centre says online acceptance has no signature step; the customer signs on your phone in the app (Tradify help).

CIS and the reverse charge

YourTradebase works out CIS on the invoice at 0%, 20% or 30% of the labour total, with a default per customer (CIS help). It applies the reverse charge to chosen invoices, removes the VAT and adds the reverse-charge note (reverse charge help). Its Xero sync carries the CIS deductions (Xero help); its QuickBooks sync is one-way and doesn't carry CIS (QuickBooks help).

Tradify takes the opposite approach. Without Xero or Sage Business Cloud connected, its help centre says, you can't create a CIS invoice, because Tradify has no "native Reverse VAT / CIS tax options" (Tradify help). For a subbie invoicing main contractors, that's a clear win for YourTradebase. Our reverse charge guide explains when it applies.

Tradify's SmartWrite writes quote and invoice descriptions from your line items, and SmartRead pulls details from documents (Tradify SmartTools). We couldn't find AI features in YourTradebase. Tradify connects to Xero, QuickBooks and Sage; YourTradebase to Xero and QuickBooks. For RAMS, YourTradebase's own blog points readers to a separate tool (YourTradebase blog), and we couldn't find a RAMS builder in Tradify.

Trials and reviews

Tradify offers a 14-day trial. YourTradebase offers 30 days with no card, then drops to a free account "which has some usage limits"; we couldn't find what those limits are. Both review well: Tradify 4.7 from 152 on Capterra, YourTradebase 4.9 from 59 on Capterra. Capterra discloses that many YourTradebase reviewers were invited by the vendor, and a lot of those reviews date from around 2020.

Who each one suits

  • YourTradebase suits small UK trade firms, especially CIS subbies, who want CIS and the reverse charge done on the invoice at a low base price, and who have a few staff.
  • Tradify suits sole traders and service teams whose customers like picking options online, who want AI help with wording or a Sage connection, and who either aren't on CIS or already run it through Xero or Sage.

When neither is enough: building projects

YourTradebase's job sheets let you note "changes and extras" (job sheets), but we couldn't find a formal variation and approval workflow in either app, or a contract builder. A reviewer of YourTradebase on Software Advice says accounting is "the only place it's lacking" (Software Advice).

EstiMate covers those gaps for builders. It does CIS and the reverse charge on the invoice like YourTradebase, and lets clients tick optional extras like Tradify. Then it turns the accepted quote into a contract the client signs online, prices variations from site with a one-tap approval link, and gives you a P&L, VAT return figures and a CIS register in its Accounts tab. It prepares those figures and doesn't file to HMRC. It's £15.99 a month per business, or £39.99 for Pro with AI take-off and the AI quote writer (EstiMate pricing).

What to do next

Count who needs a login and ask YourTradebase which users the £15 applies to. If you're on CIS, run a CIS invoice through each trial before you decide. If you're a builder, put your next extension or refit through EstiMate too. For more detail, see our Tradify pricing breakdown and EstiMate vs YourTradebase.
