Joblogic vs EstiMate: maintenance or construction software?

Joblogic and EstiMate are both UK-built, both quote and invoice, and both give the customer a link to approve a quote. That's about where the overlap stops. Joblogic is field service software for service and maintenance contractors: planned maintenance, compliance forms, certificates and engineers on the road. EstiMate is construction software for builders who price, contract and run projects.

If your diary is full of service visits, reactive call-outs and PPM schedules, Joblogic is the one to look at. If it's full of extensions, refurbishments and fit-outs with stage payments and variations, EstiMate fits the work better, and it's priced per business rather than per user.

Start with your diary, not the feature list

Look at the last month of work. You're a maintenance business if:

  • most jobs are a visit, not a project;
  • you hold planned maintenance contracts with equipment to service on a schedule;
  • certificates and compliance forms come with most jobs;
  • someone in the office books and routes engineers every day.

You're a construction business if:

  • most jobs run for weeks, with a programme and stages;
  • you take deposits and stage payments, and sometimes hold or suffer retention;
  • the client changes their mind mid-job and you price variations;
  • you pay subbies under CIS, or invoice a main contractor under the reverse charge.

Plenty of firms do a bit of both. Our guide to field service vs construction software deals with the mixed case.

What Joblogic does well

Joblogic is a Birmingham company with offices in Pakistan and Vietnam and more than 400 staff, selling to service and maintenance contractors (Joblogic). It has a lot going for it:

  • quotes, including multi-section quotes (Joblogic);
  • a portal link where the customer can approve a simple quote, or approve or decline each section of a multi-section quote, after which the quote converts to a job automatically (Joblogic support);
  • a mobile app with built-in compliance forms, risk assessments among them (Joblogic);
  • live sync with Xero, QuickBooks and Sage 50, plus exports for KashFlow, FreeAgent and AccountsIQ (Joblogic support);
  • AI Connect for summaries, hosted in the UK and now free (Joblogic), and a Dynamic Scheduler for AI routing, offered through its Marketplace (Joblogic).

It's well funded, too. In September 2025 Vista Equity Partners made a growth investment that included more than £100m in primary capital for Joblogic's AI-first roadmap (Joblogic blog). And customers like it: 4.5 out of 5 from about 370 reviews on Trustpilot (Trustpilot).

£45 a head, or £39.99 for the business

Joblogic publishes its Standard price: from £45 per user per month, billed annually, and its pricing page gives £225 a month for five users as an example (Joblogic pricing). The per-user price scales in a straight line up to 50 users. Joblogic says its UK prices exclude VAT (Joblogic). Enterprise is custom-priced and we couldn't confirm a Premium price, so we've left both out.

1 user£45 + VAT£39.99Not needed
5 users£225 + VAT£39.99From £249
10 users£450 + VAT£39.99From £249
20 users£900 + VAT£39.99From £249

Prices checked October 2026, as listed on Joblogic's pricing page and EstiMate's pricing page. Joblogic Standard is billed annually. EstiMate is monthly with no contract, and its prices are what you pay, with a VAT receipt for every payment.

The sums: ten users on Joblogic Standard is 10 × £45 = £450 a month, which is £5,400 a year before VAT. EstiMate Pro is £39.99 × 12 = £479.88 a year, and EstiMate Corp, if all ten need office logins, is from £249 × 12 = £2,988.

That isn't quite like for like, so here's the fine print. EstiMate Pro is one price for the business. Your site team join jobs through the Site Crew app by QR code or link to log time, expenses, photos and diary entries, without a full account each. If ten people each need their own office login with roles, that's EstiMate Corp, from £249 a month. And at five office users, Joblogic's £225 plus VAT is below Corp's starting price, so for a small office team Joblogic is the cheaper list price.

One more thing to ask Joblogic about. A recurring complaint in Capterra reviews is that some features presented as standard turned out to be paid Marketplace add-ons, with automated email reminders given as one example (Capterra). Get a written list of what's in your tier.

Where each one wins

"Not found" below means we searched Joblogic's site and support docs in October 2026 and found nothing. Ask them if it matters to you.

The top three rows are Joblogic's, fair and square. If you run planned maintenance across hundreds of sites, need engineers routed and want invoices to land in Sage 50 without anyone touching them, that's what it's built for.

The bottom half is the building job. Take a loft conversion with a dormer. You quote it with the en-suite and built-in wardrobes as optional extras the client can tick. The accepted quote becomes a contract they sign online. Halfway through, they want a bigger rooflight, so you price the change on site and send a one-tap approval link, and the contract total and invoices update with an audit trail (variation software). Before the job starts, you've produced the RAMS and COSHH sheets for it. At the end, CIS deductions for your subbies sit in a register next to your P&L and VAT figures in the Accounts tab. It prepares the figures for your accountant; it doesn't file to HMRC.

Who should pick which

Pick Joblogic if you're a maintenance contractor: HVAC, fire and security, gas, electrical or facilities, with PPM contracts, compliance paperwork and a team of engineers. It goes up to an Enterprise tier for 50 or more users, which tells you who it's built around (Joblogic pricing).

Pick EstiMate if you're a builder or contractor whose money is made or lost on projects: the price, the contract, the variations, the stage payments and the final account. It's not a dispatch or route-planning tool, and a 30-engineer servicing firm shouldn't pretend otherwise. But for a five-person firm doing extensions and refits, it does the whole job at one price.

What to do next

  1. Split last quarter's income into service visits and projects.
  2. If it's mostly service and PPM, ask Joblogic for a trial and a written quote for your user count.
  3. If it's mostly projects, open a free EstiMate account (no card, no time limit, three jobs a month) and run your next quote through it.
  4. If you're on an annual Joblogic plan, note the renewal date before you move anything.
